Quick Tip for Photoshop

When I am creating artwork in Photoshop for something like a cd cover jacket. I make my file twice the finished size, then reduce a tiff copy to the correct size, reducing artwork will make it seem much crisper then if you did the work it the correct size. :-)

Guild Publishes Pricing & Ethical Guidelines, 13th Edition

We're proud to announce that as of September 15, the 13th edition of Pricing & Ethical Guidelines (PEGs) will

be available for sale! This latest edition of the industry bible features a greatly revamped and updated section on Web design and digital media. Chapters on other disciplines were also reviewed by established professionals and updated. And as always, artists nationwide were polled for pricing information on our tables of pricing guidelines.

The cover and interior art was supplied by member Laura Smith, an illustrator whose style is influenced by early 20th-century poster art.

White House Releases Plan for Protection of Intellectual Property.

On Tuesday, June 22, 2010, the White House released the first Administration Strategic Plan on Intellectual Property Enforcement. To develop this plan, the administration worked with governmental agencies and received significant input from the public, companies, industry groups, unions, consumer groups and academics, including the Graphic Artists Guild and The Copyright Alliance, of which the Guild is a member.
